New aluminum Slider door and window with double latch to make sure you keep the air flowing
We only use quality New Zealand made window and door hardware for extra security. Our aluminium joinery is the strongest/most solid of any Cabin in New Zealand. Our windows have double security latch so the cabins still get ventilation while still being secure. For added piece of mind, we have fitted an outside light so you can see to get into and out of the cabin.
All the cabins (even the standard ) all come with 2 double power points. Enough to run your phone charge, laptop and the heater plus the TV if you want to
Some say our cabins are the best for getting into those tricky spots as they are built onto their own customs built chassis. We drop them off on wheels and a drawbar fitted to the ute. Once onsite we lower the four independent metal legs, make sure the cabin is level before removing the wheels and drawbar. You are left with a freestanding cabin that is up off the ground. Perfect for airflow. Plus the ground doesn’t have to be perfectly level as all the legs are independent. Great if the ground you are wanting to put the cabin on isn’t perfectly level. We can place the cabin on concrete, gravel or grass.
Our Cabins are built onto their own chassis and have removable wheels and a drawbar. We have the proper equipment, so leave it to our trained staff. Plus for insurance we need to locate the cabin. Our delivery fees include the drop off and pick up (or free in some areas) so let us do the heavy lifting while you get to watch our delivery person work their magic.
We have public liability insurance. The cabin comes with a valid electrical WOF and exceeds the building code. The contents inside the cabin aren’t covered by us so double check with your insurance company if you are at all concerned. The ranchslider has quality made hardware and the windows have a double latch. The cabins can’t do any damage to the property as they are freestanding. Give us a call if you have any questions – we are happy to chat
Generally no council consent is needed. The cabins are all under the new government rules around portable buildings (-30m2). There are council rules around how close to any side boundary or the road you can have a portable building. If in doubt please contact your local council as it can change between towns and regions
Minimum period is normally 6 months, but we do hire for shorter periods if we have spare cabins available. Plus some areas will rent for 3 months. Talk to your local Room2rent cabin franchise owner to see what they can offer

In some areas curtains are included in the rental price. If they don’t most people have spare curtains in the back of the cupboard or you can pick up second hand curtains for a small fee. If they don’t come with curtains they ALL come with the tracks to hang the curtains. The window and ranchslider are standard sizes so will easily fit most curtains

Get in touch with us. We normally ask for 3 weeks notice when people would like to return a cabin once the contract is up. On saying that some people who signed up for 6 months still have the same cabin 10 years later! We never increase our weekly cost so the price you pay on delivery will never go up.
Short answer is No. The price you pay when we drop off the cabin includes collection at the end of the contract. No hidden fees or costs

All cabins are 2.4m wide but we normally ask for 2.7m across. This gives us a little bit of wriggle room to wheel a cabin into place. It also helps to minimise the chances of damage to cabins or property.
Cabins on wheels are 2.9m high but we do have smaller wheels that can bring it down to 2.8m. We have the best and most easily manoeuvrable cabins.
Our delivery people are all trained to fit a cabin into some of the tightest spaces in New Zealand. If you are short on space Room2rent cabins are your best bet for making that extra room a reality.

Yes – that is always our aim to put the cabin where people get the most privacy. We can also arrange to hiab or crane the cabin over a fence or even the house. This comes with additional costs so check with your local franchise owner to see what we can do for you.
